Leake CPA, PC: A Family Venture

In December 1979, after 2 years of work in the "Big 8" public accounting firm Haskins & Sells, Stephen Leake opened his own public accounting practice as Stephen A. Leake, CPA. Steve built a practice based on solid relationships and the principle of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," also known as "The Golden Rule." Steve made and maintained strong relationships with his clients based on mutual trust and understanding. In 2002, Steve discussed the issue of continuance of his firm with his son, Andy, who was a computer science major at the time, and asked if he would be interested in teaming up to carry on the family business. Andy began taking business classes at UNT and discovered he had an aptitude for the same type of work his father had done for the past 25 years. Andy graduated with a degree in accounting and began working for Steve in his original firm, and passed the CPA exam shortly thereafter. They started the new family business in December 2010 as Leake CPA, PC, continuing to maintain the same principles of honesty, diligence, and courtesy in business practice. In 2012, Leake CPA, PC opened a new location in Richardson to improve accessibility to clients along the I-75 corridor. In 2013, Leake CPA, PC opened another location in McKinney to better serve clients in Collin County. In December 2014, Stephen Leake retired from Leake CPA after 37 years in public accounting.

Andy Leake, CPA

Andy was born and raised in Mesquite, Texas. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of North Texas in 2005 and became a CPA in 2010.

Andy is an Elder, Sunday school teacher, youth group sponsor, and also plays the drums in the praise band at First Presbyterian Church of Mesquite. He is an Eagle Scout and is also President and Treasurer of The Mesquite Sunrise Rotary Club. Andy has served on the Board of Directors for the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce and also as Chairman of the Mesquite Parks and Recreation Department's Advisory Board.
